Can't shift out of park when cold.

My 07 Tahoe, in the mornings mainly when its cold I can't shift out of park. I have looked at all the linkages and connectors and they all look good. Should I spray some wd-40 on the ignition and linkages or what? Its all good once it warms up.

That happened to me on monday morning. It's freezing here in Dallas and my 07 Tahoe wouldnt shift at all for a few seconds. maybe you need to let it sit idl for a few minutes. I started doing that and its fine.

It ended up being the brake switch, it wasnt telling the computer my brakes were working so it wasnt letting me pull it out of park.
