So about a week ago I could not shift to Park - the dash shows it in reverse actually but it is not in Reverse or Park. I can remove the key so that is not an issue, but I do have to use the parking break b/c it will roll if I don't.

I can get under the truck and nudge the arm/lever at the trans and it will pop right into Park easily. There is a metal support bracket (attached to the side of the trans) that hold the cable in place. I did notice that where the cable passes through the bracket some of the plastic housing around the cable seems to have cracked off. Not really sure how much, but I do know it seems to have a little play in it, as it it not as firmly attached to the bracket as it seems it should be.

Should I replace this?
How hard is it?
If so, is there a difference between a "AC DELCO transmission range selector lever cable for $35 on AMAZON and a "GM Shift Cable Set" on EBAY for $100?
They look the same and both are new but that is a big price difference...

Thank you to whom can assist me and get me in the right direction.

If the mounting area is messed up, you may need to replace it. I don't think there would be a difference between the two you are looking at, but if you can get a part number for your vehicle, you could search it that way.

A quick search on rockauto.com found one for an 03 yukon with the 5.3 for around 40 bucks. I just ball parked the vehicle, but that should get you close. The part number is
ACDELCO Part # 88967320
GM Original Equipment
4WD; Trans. code 4L60-E; INCLS 2 CABLES & INSTRUCTION SHEET

$37.89

Found the part on Amazon for $35, both upper and lower cable. I only replaced the lower cable. Not too bad at all, pretty simple. Needle nose pliers required - connecting the two cables back together with that itty, bitty clip was a chore. Other than that, perfect. Thanks for the help!
