Carpet replacement 02 Denali

My carpet is pretty trashed from the previous owner. I've tried folex and a carpet extractor but I can't make much headway.

I'm thinking of ordering new carpet and I'm curious how difficult it is to take out the old and put the new in?

Carpet is two pieces, front and rear sections. Naturally all seats would need to come out. Center console as well would need to come out too. Almost forgot about the rear panels. They should come out too or maybe just enough to get the carpet underneath them.

I recently took mines out and currently putting back in. I didn’t change the carpet but wish I had ordered the carpet and changed it while I did have it all out. I’m sure others may chip in, but hope this helps!

Btw, I’ve got the 03 XL Denali. It would also depend on whether you’ve got the 2nd row captains or bench. Either way procedure is same.

Cool I’m thinking of replacing all my carpet also...what’s the best fit brand anyone? Was hoping to find NOS but to no avail.

Hopefully seat bolts won’t snap of in the floor panels I’ll presoak them with pb blaster I’ve had it happen on other vehicles before

I have used www.stockingeriors.com and www.ocautocarpets.com. Both sell ACC Carpets products which is an OEM supplier. You can request free samples in order to match. The carpet comes molded to the floorpans but it’s wider than the original and you have to make the cutouts too. You need to pull the seats and trim that touch the carpet. Use the old carpet as a pattern but cut it an inch or two wider all around and trim more if necessary when you install it. It’s a 2- piece like mentioned and the mass backing is worth the extra coin for sound deadening and cushion. You need a good set of heavy shears.

It comes in a 6’ width I believe so iirc I bought 2 linear feet but I highly suggest not doing them. The old stuff is fused to a foam backing that’s almost impossible to remove without gouging holes in the door panel. And even when you do get it stripped ( I used single edge razor blades in a holder) you’ll need something like Aircraft Spruce glue to hold it because the surface won’t hold glue very good.

Keep in mind there’s carpet on the bottom edge of the console and the backs of the second row seats too so you probably want to match close to the original so everything matches.i also suggest getting samples of all the colors that look close, there’s so many that look like they’re the right one what you look at the web page but when you see them in person they don’t match. I don’t have a record of which one I bought but I did get 6-8 samples I think. Samples are free and you want to get the color right.

I took the carpet out of a Grand Cherokee I have and power washed it, turned out pretty good! I let it dry for a week before putting it back in.
