CCM leveling kit question

Is there anything I need in addition to what comes from CCM with the purchase of the level kit to install (other than tools)? My installer asked me if I already had extended U bolts - but I was under the impression I wouldn't need any additional hardware. Am I wrong?

Should be complete kit. U-bolts? Those are usually for leaf springs kits.

Yep. It went on with ease. Really like the look right now. And I still fit in both my home garage and work parking garage with no scraping.

I also removed the plastic around the side steps. Looks so much better without it.

The mechanic (who I've solely used for 12 years and trust) said I've probably got 20,000 miles left on my tires before I need to replace, so for right now, I'll save that $ and look into using it on a Black Bear Tune. If everyone thinks it's worth it.

If you're going to step up a size in tires i would do that before the tune

Nice, now post some pics! Yes the Black Bear Tune is work it! It will feel like a different truck.

Just sent my deposit for a time slot at the Black Bear Tune Fort Worth event. Everybody said if you're on the fence, get it done - so I'm getting it done.

When you get larger tires you can have them adjust the speedo. If you are not getting the Autocal, then I think they have a number of free adjustment tunes (i would ask them if you are concerned about this). Consider waiting till you install more upgrades then get the tune.

Thanks. Currently in debates about adding an Airaid MIT. Waiting to hear back from Julie @ Black Bear. Obviously if I decide to pull the trigger, I want to have this done in the next month before the tune first weekend of December. Other than that & tires, I think I'll be done modifying anything other than stereo and additional window tint.

Maybe this is just my stupidity, but will they need to adjust the speedo if I only increase tire width? I'm almost settled on Nitto Terra Grappler 285/65/R18, and I'm currently running a 265/65/18 AT?

That size tire is larger in diameter. The middle number (65) is the ratio of the tire sidewall height. That is, the tire side wall is 65% of 285 mm. So the tire diameter is 2 x (65%*285 mm*[1in/25.4mm]) + 18 in = 32.59 in. For the 265 width the diameter would be 31.56 in.
