Hey everyone. I just purchased a 2012 Tahoe LTZ, and I'm not crazy about the factory wheels it came with which are 22's (6 lug). I've found a set of 17's (also 6 lug) for sale in the area that came off the same generation Tahoe, but an LT model. Is this something I should do, or would it be better to look for a set of 20's off an LTZ? I'm just looking for factory wheels. I really don't know much at all about swapping out wheels for different-sized wheels so any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

You can swap between factory wheels. I have a 2006 Denali and went from my stock 17s to the 2007 year Denali 20s and the fit with no issues. New tires and sensors and it was a straight swap. Just depends on your size preference. I really like the 20s from the current generation tahoe, and think that those 20s look really good on your generation tahoe.

Thanks! My 22's have P285/45R22 tires, and I've found a set of 17's on FB with 265/70/17 tires. Will there be much of an issue with speedometer calibration, and maybe with things like brake calipers?

You have to run minimum 17s to clear the calipers. But you should be good to go. Speedo shouldn’t be too far off. It might read a little faster than what you’re actually going. Just depends on how big of a difference in the height from the tire on the 22 to the tire on the 17.

The 17's are a 1/2" shorter than the 22's
