I have an 01 yukon xl 4X4. Has a light vibration at 60-65. Acceleration or coasting, does not matter. I cant feel it in the steering wheel. Was told it was the tires so I had a new set put on it. It was still there. Someone said it was the u joints. I put all new u joints on it yesterday and it's still there. Anyone mind pointing me in the direction to what I need to check next? Also, I am in no way a mechanic, so feel free to dumb it down. I wont be offended.

does it stop at any point?

every morning both my car and truck vibrates via the wheels at 70 mph on my way to work. i only drive 2.5 miles to work a mile or so is on the hwy, but if i keep driving around a few more miles it stops as the tires warm up. even when i drive down the same hwy i take to work, ruling out its the road. its just cold hard spots from sitting over night.

Daniel, usually the first place I’d look is tire balance. With new tires that shouldn’t be it When you had tires and u joints replaced did you ask them to find this problem? There are lots of moving parts from wheel bearings to drive shafts or bent wheels. I’d suggest going to a shop you trust rather than having any more parts replaced. Let us know what you find.

The majority of times vibrations at such speeds turn out to be wheels, wheel bearings. To eliminate engine being the culprit, put it in neutral at 70 and see if the vibration remains as the vehicle slows. Also pay attention if it is influenced by things like acceleration, coasting, braking, turning.

I had the tires balanced again yesterday. The vibration is almost completely gone. It barely does it for a few seconds right before I hit 65mph, then goes away. Im gonna just deal with it for now.
