Check Engine Light?

I have a 2013 Tahoe with 12,000 miles on it. Today the check engine light came on. I need to get an oil change and have 12% showing on the DIC. Will needing an oil change cause the check engine light to come on? Thanks!

I'm sorry if the 'check engine' light alarmed you in any way. Since you're well within your warranty, I would advise taking your truck into the dealership as soon as possible to have them take a look at everything. I found out the problem. Driving home from work the truck sounded horrible. Sounded like an old diesel truck when I hit the gas. Got home and popped the hood and the CAI tube had popped out.
