I know someone mention that here in texas you can do whatever you want but I know here in tyler that they can give you a citation for a vehicle even on your property as a blyth so the vehicle has to stay registered with current tags on it even if it's on your property unless it's in the garage being worked on or in the very back yard work cant be seen again most people around here just have a barn or some sort of storage unit on their property because it is rural area

Really bro u start calling people names? Dude it got way out of hand but if you back a couple pages it says if the cop is not like a cop as in doesnt look like a cop aka civillian... And fyi we used to do repos back in the day with people who didnt pay their cars. When somebody doesnt pay their bills then i clearly will be on the side that says they have to give back what is not theirs but when infact a vehicle is on your property and is yours as in no payments then it is wrong for them to give you infractions for something on your privaye property. And popo i did say if a cop tresspasses with no warrent as would be the same as a theif tresspasses. If the cop has a warrent for the vehicle theres really nothing you can do as you know. I was just saying if the cop comes in like a thief and tries to take whatever they want without paperwork. Its got out of control alot of pages back but we all have pur opinions and some might think theirs is correct only but like i said last night im not trying to change anybodies opinion so... Lets get back on topic shall we?

Aj tyler is close to dallas right? They probably do that because it is in a high populated area and makes the city look bad. I live north of dallas and we dont have a problem with those citations and it has to do with if you live in a big city or small town i guess

First off.... a cop cannot trespass "the same as a criminal." a criminal has intent to commit a crime....the police do not. And if the ordinance or veh code law is in place ...WE are only doing our job...to pay our bills and support our family. Because whether u like it or not... the majority spoke and said "we want police to uphold laws." If ur not one of those my suggestion would be to move to an unpoliced area.... Im not being a dick... but thats the way it is.... we uphold laws.... we save....we help..... and ill be damned if while doing what i was hired to do someone is gonna think of putting myself or my partners in harms way...

And along the same lines... if u dont like the ordinances in ur area... take ur neighbors... take ur friends and speak up in a twp meeting.

But...please...please...please.... remember....when u threaten to shoot a cop, or even do shoot one... u wont ever win. There are much better ways than making those threats.

Finally...an ordinance...a law...a code...they are all responsibilities of law enforcement to uphold... with that being said... i think those ordinances are stupid..... ive been dispatched to many of those calls.... I WALK RIGHT UP ON THE PERSONS PROPERTY....and i knock on the door.... i tell the people to handle it...hide it...or disguise it (as in a vehicle cover). Think about that....

But yea u really never beat the system so you are going to have to go to court and most likely loose. I wohld argue that the vehicle was being repaired at the time and if you have reciepts as priof they could throw it out. Hope yoy do or if you know people get a reciept mad of riht before the ticket summon thing;)

I'm not going to court to fight it, I'm going cuz they said I have to go to court. I am just trying to do what they want me to do.

popo8 ; If you are an officer , maybe you can tell me what is going happen when I go. This is a misdemeanor, when I called the Court they said my court date was an arraignment.
It doesn't say any thing on this ticket about a fine. Is there a fine involved ?

I missed what state ur in but a mis sounds really severe for a violatio re a unregistered non running vehicle.

I can only talk to you from the angle of PA proceedings....but if its A mis....talk to an atty.

In my twp where i work we have it as a twp ordinance (fines only) and its in the Pa Veh codes as a subsection of abandoned vehicles . But even that is a summary offense.

What I have learned is many States do not have summary offenses and misdemeanors are not as serious as here in PA.

Can u tell me what state u are in.... and exactly what section of what rules u were issued...

Feel free to email me the info or a copy of tge citation to my email.

[email protected]

Ill try to do some research so I dont freak u out because of dif rules in dif states...

I know you didn't, which was exactly my point. As you see, the post I quoted mentioned it and that's why I brought it up while quoting his/her post.

Your point is moot since the post you quoted was interpreted incorrectly. I said a cop is not trespassing if they are pursuing a criminal.

Look up the term "fresh pursuit".

We've obviously gotten off topic here.

Just because you couldn't find the ordinance on the Internet doesn't mean it doesn't exist.. How about physically calling them and asking instead of chalking it up as "they were wrong, couldn't find the oridinance on the Internet, shoot the cops, they are breaking the law!"

Maybe you need to understand a few things. The OP pm'd the details of the statute and citiation to me. I looked up both state law and city law for his area. The specific code referenced on his citation has nothing to with what he's saying. OP specifically said it was a local ordinance. We talked via PM for several messages after midnight and up to 1.30am. I was already in bed, but figured I'd take the time to help another TYF'r in need. If you'd like to call me out please bring some facts to back up your claims, otherwise I'm going to school your speculation on this subject. I, unlike you, have already read the laws for Flint, MI. I even provided links to the OP via PM.

As for your 'hot pursuit' garbage, go back and read the post of mine you are referring to. You will see that I did say a cop is not trespassing if he is pursuing a criminal. Hot pursuit has absolutely nothing to deal with what the OP has had happen. So, I encourage you to read all posts in their entirety and not just pay attention to stuff somebody with less than 10 posts on this forum misinterpreted. I thought you were better than than. And, in reference to Gzes post about shooting a warning shot at a cop, I'm already on record saying that is a stupid idea.
