Anyone done the updated/relocated solenoid on one of these?

I know there's a mod that requires a section of heater hose to relocate the valve as I live on a dirt road and keep throwing the P0446 code.

Does anyone know the specific part #'s for this fix and/or details?

There's a ton of outdated info out there and I keep getting bad part#'s, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

The latest version of the TSB I can find is here: http://rpg.sitealiveauto.com/assets/uploads/news/0087/bulletin.pdf

It looks like what I've been hearing about. One of the part#'s has been replaced with a new part #.

Nonetheless, GM Parts Giant and GM Parts Direct both say these part #'s are not for my 2003 Yukon. :wtf:

I just don't get why there isn't some agreement on such a simple parts replacement...

I thought the updated part was only for pickups as I did this costly update on my 06 GMC Sierra.

The newer TSB's state that as well. I've had several people tell me that they have used the newer stuff on these trucks though, but no one seems to be able to remember the part #'s...

I don't have the number any more. Just call up the dealer and ask them for the updated evap purge valve for a 06 Sierra/Silverado and it will automatically give them the number you are looking for.

Did you check the integrity of the circuits?

That's the problem. All of the TSB's and parts info say that those parts do not work on my '03.

No....and yes.

My buddy/mechanic cleaned out the existing unit and it was full of dust and dirt from my daily driving on dirt roads. All was fine for a week or so, but then it came back on again.

I ordered the parts that the 2006 TSB calls for, even though all of the data says they aren't the right parts.

It's pretty ridiculous that they can't agree on such a common issue on such a common vehicle...

Alldata shows the most recent TSB for your truck (Yukon) to be:

Yep- that's the one I went with. The part #'s are not all the same and multiple parts sources still don't agree, but I'm moving forward anyway.

Just got the parts in today. Hope to install tomorrow...

Yeah, I'd go with that. There may be some differences as to how the purge solenoid is designed as to stay on longer to clear the longer EVAP lines of the longer wheelbase pick-ups and software calibration differences to account for that (I really don't see that as being a huge problem as the difference is so minute) but I'd go ahead and go as per the TSB for the Yukon s you are and that should be the best solution.

If your solenoid is caked in mud, you might also want to check out the EVAP/Charcoal canister itself. It could be plugged up with mud as well.
