Hey Tahoewhat,
Somewhere in one of the three threads I'm tracking this swap in I recall you mentioning you were considering going to a heavier spring...something like a 1300 or so. If I'm recalling that correctly can you tell me if you're still considering and what characteristic of the ride makes you consider switching springs?

I think it was this thread,

But yes i had considered going up to a 1300lb spring, but from a 1200lb to 1300 for only 100lbs does not make sense and would not be beneficial honestly.

The reason for wanting to go was because in my opinion i think the Tahoe could use the 1300lb spring. The fronts are quite heavy and just think it could use the heavier spring.

My thoughts on it as far as ride, were that when driving it still feels like the front will bottom out, even with the shocks on firmest setting. But only have that feeling when hitting a bump in the road, or dip if you will at a high speed. The front will go down when hitting it, not bottom out, (have not yet) just sense it could and maybe the 1300 could help with that.

Sorry if that doesnt make sense, its hard to explain really. Just thought it wouldnt hurt.

Did you ever get the bumpstops installed?

And the real test...has the wife said anything about the ride? Haha

Not yet. I have them sitting in my truck just have to get with my friend to cut off the cup and install them but time is not my friend lately. Lol

And no wife got to get my life straight first. But went to a wedding this weekend with a very good friend since high school and she is very picky about ride and did not say one thing except she really loves the way my Tahoe rides. So I take that as a positive note. She drives an avalanche.

If time allows tomorrow I will be messing with the coils and getting it all setup for alignment tuesday.

I.E. getting the height tuned in and double checking all fitment, nuts & bolts, etc.

She drives an avalanche AND said she "likes the way your Tahoe rides"??? Sounds like a match made in heaven to me, bro. You better scoop her up if she's on the market. ;)

Put my SS wheels back up front and got it all tuned up height wise, Now just waiting for alignment Tuesday.

Then the real test of driving it around. Other wise its still great. I have pics of the setup now w/ over 500 miles if anyones interested. Dirty and little blurry, but shows nothing has changed w/ atomics brackets and with the weight of the tahoe.
