I happen to be a fairly new owner of a 2005 Denali. Now that i am finished with the mods i'm doing to my Camaro i need to start getting things together for my "Groecery Getter". Got my Cat Back in the shed and looking for headers and CAI so i can get my tune done all at the same time. Headers are easy enough to pilfer through but i keep finding loads of "I like" or I'm happy with" about CAI's. Has anyone put up some numbers or are they so minor that the "swiss cheese" and a K&N is all i need? Not looking to blow a huge load on a CAI due to the supercharger my yearly bonus will be buying in the spring of 2012 but i do want something to carry me til then. I also need to keep this thing drivable so i can use it to haul my 'Maro. If y'all don't mind throw me some info please.

not sure if you have ever taken a look at the stock intake but its redic

not sure how much you drive and how you drive but if you would only have it for a short time im not sure you would get much out if it... Id say mine payed for itself within the first 10,000miles easy but I do lots of highway

I have a 2005 Yukon XL and have had a Spectre CAI on for a little over a year now. I got it for about $120, I think. I replaced the filter with the AEM Dryflow, which I have to say appears to be much better constructed and is easier to clean AND oil free!

I think the CAI is definately a worthwhile upgrade.

With a BB tune, Magnaflow exhaust and the CAI above, I average 15.5 mpg. I hit 19-20mpg when on long trips.

I was looking at the K&N (plastic tube) but just wanted to be sure if they are really worth it before i dump $300 on one. I might get 10k miles on it within the next year, Almost done dusting the fatory Pirelli on my car first, shouldn't take very long now that the new tires are in and the mods are all done:burnout:.
