Just spent over $700 on new shocks, air lines and compressor for my 06 Denali, and it still leaks air and has to run just about on every startup. Is this a system design flaw? I'd hoped that by replacing everything the compressor wouldn't have to kick on every time it started. Granted my previous issues were much more severe than this but I'm a little pissed that after spending this kind of money it still leaks down!

To be Clear: I used the Dorman Compressor, Dorman air lines, and the Arnott Shocks.

I've heard of some people having great success after replacing components and having their air systems work very little, however my shocks run flat over night if not sooner!

Thanks

Have you sprayed the lines and fittings for leaks?

I have not had a chance to diagnose anything yet. Life has got me tangled up in "more important things" like my day job, family, honey do list, etc... Was hoping to have a game plan by the time I had time to check everything out.

What solution should I use to spray the lines with? Soapy water?

Soapy water will work, there are better products out but I would start with this.

Before i threw my autoride junk in the garabge when it actually worked the compressor would come on for about 10-15 seconds on startup and as far as i know it was normal. If you hear the compressor kicking on all the time i would suspect a leak somewhere but if it only comes on at startup i wouldn`t worry about it.

No, the compressor is not running constantly, and the bags do stay inflated for a while after a trip, however the compressor does run after every startup for about 10 seconds, and the bags are completely deflated every morning. I'm guessing its designed that way.

Unfortunately...you have a leak. As suggested the soapy water and paint brush trick is the way to go. Get it on a lift and concentrate on the connections...and good luck.

$#!t...was hoping this wasn't going to be the case. I have a feeling its those cheap little line connectors. The OEM lines used a plastic clip and the dorman lines use a little metal wire clip. Anyone know where you can get the little plastic clips? GM Dealer?

I used a Dorman line to replace my stock one that got sheared off and it works fine. My compressor runs for a few seconds at startup if it's been sitting overnight or all day. It's possible you don't have one of the connections on all the way- make suure to pull on each connecto to check and slide the metal clip into the correct position, then use soap and water like mentioned. PS my stock lines have the metal clips also.
