When I replaced my lower intake gasket, it was separated and falling apart and in really poor condition. I wonder if that really is the result of the acidic dexcool antifreeze. But either way, no one brought up the lower intake gasket going bad because you never listed any symptoms or what was happening to the truck or any details. Also, the lower intake gasket going bad will not cause the truck to run or idle any differently or any of the cylinders to lose compression. It will cause your truck to overheat and lose cabin heat though

you probably aren't seeing any leaks because it is possibly going out the exhaust like mine was a few weeks ago. i was wondering where it was going....when the gaskets did go completely it was mixing with the oil.

Took it to the shop and they quoted everything out for me which I listed in my other thread: http://tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36189

On another note they ran a compression test and said everything was fine, one cylinder was 115 and the rest were around 140-150. They said that was ok though, thoughts?
