I have the 2021 tahoe LT (2WD) with tow package. If i were you I’ll wait for the 2022. Saves you a bunch of trips to the dealer on just Recalls alone. I been to the dealer at least 3-4 times since October 2020. Believe or not, going again to tomorrow (for another recall & side mirror issue) :(

If you have a late built 2021 I'd think you'd be ok, and caught up with recalls, etc. Materially, there will be no real difference between a late 21 and a new 22 other than end of model year....Don't believe there will be any notable MY upgrades....

Keep in mind that anything bought today from a dealer will have all outstanding recalls addressed prior to the sale. If the concern is about avoiding additional recalls in the future then its anyone's guess how the 2022 will fare vs the 2021.

The only problem with my 21 was the reverse lamp error which they've fixed with a new firmware. There's no reason as far as I can see to avoid '21s

Ive been seeing various people here post up problems they have been experiencing, but for the life of me I can’t remember exactly what they were. I’ll have to try and find the posts to reference back here. It seemed like a general consensus, but perhaps it was just a very small minority experiencing the problems. Like @JasonHTX says...he’s had no issues yet. But he only has 2600 miles on.
Software bugs, lifter failures, sunroof leaks. Oh and batteries dying after installing updates- needing to be towed to dealership.

I've had no significant issues so far (only about 1,000 miles). Only issue has been the cargo liner adhesive not being strong enough which I fixed with some double sided carpet tape.

Getting a late 2021 model is key as most of the early issues would have been ironed out by now. Also I would avoid the sunroof... it just always seems like a bad idea to me.

Wait for the 2022. The 2021 model year is filled with problems. Hell in June alone I got a recall on the 3rd and another one on the 17th.

But is there any reason to think a late MY 21 would be any diff in quality than a MY22? Either one will have any outstanding recalls fixed before sale and there will be no mechanical changes whatsoever in the 22 that I'm aware of. For what's its worth my 21 purchased in October has had zero problems besides the very minor recalls, but maybe I'm one of the lucky ones.
