Nope.. She says it has to much power, and its to big. I already talked to her about letting her have it, upgrade from her Pontiac Aztek. Her response was, "ONLY IF I HAVE TO" in a very stern tone. In other words, NO.

Of course the truck she wants costs 72k, and is so new, their arent any used ones on the market!

Edit: The car she wants is a Genesis GV80 3.5T Prestige
So the escalade has 345 hp and weighs 5535lbs to much power lol.The genesis she wants has 375 hp and weighs 4506lbs.Looks like the genesis has way to much power i suspect its just to big for her.If i was married i would trade it in for a chevy cobalt and tell her ok her you go hunny-in a stern way :)

I just bought this truck 3 months ago.. And although I like the truck, I dont love it. Although the power is better, my Envoy was more comfortable.

Its a good truck, dont get me wrong, but for as many things I like about it, there are the things I dont like.

I dont like the color
I dont like the ride
I dont like the power
The fun factor that I want just isnt there.

I had a offer 3 months ago for nearly double what I paid for it (17k). But I was in the honeymoon phase, and I said no.

Now I wonder if I should have taken it..

Talk me out of it?

Just for the ease of it, here are the details.
2006 Cadillac Escalade Select
84000 miles

I have already been shopping, but nothing is decided yet, and I have not found a replacement, or even test drove anything. These are just ones I am considering if I do decide to replace it.
Possible candidates are:
Inifity FX50
Chevy Trailblazer SS
Saab 9-7x Aero
Porsche Cayenne
Jeep Cherokee SRT8
A GMT900 Escalade or Tahoe will feel just as nimble as her Aztec, the latter being not as "powerful". They have a nicer ride than the 800s with their macpherson strut suspension that seems to me to also work better with the rack and pinion steering. But if she's set on a little car, get the Trailblazer or Saab (same car underneath for those of you in Rio Linda).

surprising for a beefed up Hyundai the biggest gutless pos things out there, I remember when they first came out I could probably push one of those things off the line faster then it would go.

Not sure as of yet. Looking at market prices, I was hoping for 15k. But nothing is decided yet.

It was some random guy, so no idea where he is, or who he is!

I guess I got lucky.. I never had the I6, bought my Envoy with the 5.3. If I wanted to, I could always regear it, get the power I am after, and keep on driving it. But I know its going to need an engine sooner or later, at 202k.
Always wondered how the envoys / trailblazers with the 5.3 felt, the I6 was a slug off the line but ripped on the thruway when punched. Test drive a trailblazer ss back in 2010 when kinda new but the sales guy went with me so couldn’t really romp the hell outta it

Lots to reply to there LOL..

Never have to hear the words, "It has toooooo much power!"
Its maddening isnt it?

I Wish.. My Escalade is nearly 7000 lbs. My Envoy is 5980 lbs. My brothers avalanche was nearly 7600 lbs.

She actually cant drive a Cobalt.. I will explain in a bit... She does not want a little car. She wants a mid-size SUV.

So I have driven the QV80. Its quick, and nice to drive. But those horsepower come in late to the game. Turbo Lag is insane! But once they punch, she is a mover! Its actually a fantastic little truck.. But I still cant justify 72k for a Hyundai...

I have been trying for YEARS to get her into a GMT360. I found a beautiful Buick Rainier V8, in that dark blue, with 52k miles on it, for a really good price, but to no avail (I should have bought it for myself). My wife is vertically challenged (short, she is 16 inchs shorter than me!), and the seats of a GMT360 go a bit down her calf, making it uncomfortable to drive. The big thing for her is that it needs both power pedals, and adjustable steering column (not just up and down, but in and out). That didnt show up on the GMT's until 2015 or 16 if memory serves me right. If it doesnt have the PP and PC (Power Pedals/Column) she is literally 1-2 (or less) inchs away from the steering wheel. Shes pregnant right now, and she cant even drive her Aztek.

I always hated the I6. I had rented quite a few of them thru the years. They get the job done, but they arent a 5.3. The downside to my 5.3 Envoy is the GU6 gears. Second gear takes you to nearly 90mph, and the governor is 93.

The SS is a beast of a machine. Fun, nimble, and heavily modifiable... And I do like them.. But a Volvo XC90 V8 is just a bit better, in stock form, IMHO. But its also a Yamalvo (Yamaha Volvo) (ducks for the incoming head shots LOL).

Actually, been married twice. First wife loved her big engine rear wheel drive muscle cars and had a Chevy Chevelle with 396 that she loved to run the crap out of and my second wife passed still owning a Pontiac Firebird/Trans Am that she did the same to. With both, riding in the passenger seat could be a bit of a "white knuckle ride" sometimes.

The 900s are much lighter. My Yukon XL is 5900 pounds. The Tahoes and Escalades are about 5600, even less than the Envoy!

Now I know why my friends Envoy was such a gas hog, it was heavier than my truck!

Check out a 900.

Oh, my wife loves the sound of the V8, always get it back empty and the average mpgs down to M1 Abrams levels! She wants a 14-second Denali of course!

Last time I went to the scrap yard with the 01 Tahoe & 5x8 trailer leaving I was at 6300 pounds with 2 15 inch woofers in a huge box in the back as well as a buddy (and the carry on trailer)

I went across a moving scale with my Esky, and it averaged 6800 lbs. I have not weighed it directly yet.

So I posted it on Facebook, and within 2 minutes got a message of interest... But it sounds scammey to me.. He said "I am very interested in your post". Just doesnt sound right. But i will play ball.. He asked if he could pick it up today, and I said sure, all transactions will be in cash, and done at the local police department.... Silence.
