It looks like the part we are all looking for is #3 - "Console Extension Harness". Does anyone have a part number for this so I can take it to the dealer or look it up on gmpartsdirect.com?

Book is for 03 Denali....

Weird, cause that drawing is not for an 03. Also, no, the harness is not the same for 2002 and 2003. 2003-2006 is the same though.

What exactly are you trying to do? Did you not have a console and now are trying to add one? If so, it's not going to be plug and play. You can't just buy a harness to connect it to the dash. It's part of a huge harness that's throughout the vehicle.

Yes - that's what I and jpaeltz were trying to do. I came to the same conclusion you just stated when I first looked at the diagrams. However, others have done this and have not replaced all vehicle wiring. If you look at the second diagram in Mac's 5-24-2010 post (in this thread) you will see the harness identified as "Console Extension Harness". It does not plug in to the main dash harness as far as I can tell. A good start would be to get the harness, hook it up, and see what happens. I thought that the console connected in some way to the BCM, but I can't see that in the diagrams. I may be confusing the Lux Bose with the Non-Lux Bose in that regard and for Non-Lux I'm not sure what the role of the BCM is/would be. If it works like most other systems, all that should be needed is a connection between the head unit and the Amp. The speaker connections already exist. Now maybe the amp can't find the A-pillar tweets or something, but in that scenario, you'd just be missing some sound, but it should still work - i.e. it should still amp the head unit output.

If you have any further info, it would be much appreciated.

Well, you can add the console of course. But adding the Bose system to a vehicle that is not equipped with it would be a lot of work. The console extension harness does plug into the dash. It runs under the carpet up into the dash. Most of it is amp wiring, power, grounds, etc. If you don't have the factory console, I don't think your dash harness has a place to hook in the console extension harness. I don't think the console extension harness is even removable from vehicles that come with a console. But I am not 100% sure, because I have never gone that far up into the dash.

The console extension harness is most certainly removable, its not very long, and there's not much to it. I don't see that the console extension harness plugging in to anything but the head unit. I don't see a place on the diagram where it plugs into the dash harness. Maybe I'm just not seeing it. If it does, do you know where this happens or have a diagram showing where on the dash harness it plugs in? It's listed as a separate part from the dash harness.

From a systems standpoint, I can't of any reason why on a non-lux bose amp it NEEDS to plug in to anything but the head unit. Again, maybe i'm missing something, but if so, someone please set me straight with some proof.
