LD2011X pictures with a full-size 9mm pistol addition

On this forum, if there isn't a picture, it didn't happen, huh? So here are some pictures of the LD2011X Console Safe by Lock'er Down with a Sig Sauer P250 full-size 9mm pistol/holster installed, and lots of space for other stuff to fit inside. Of course, no weapon need be stored there to begin with, so billfolds, cameras, etc. can be safely kept out of sight when away from one's vehicle.

I don't want to get into a discussion in this topic about guns. The only reason I mentioned the Sig Sauer model is so that anyone who wants to check its dimensions will have a good idea of what can be installed on the left inside wall of the LD2011X if one wants to permanently mount a pistol/holster. A somewhat larger pistol will also fit. Most people don't lug around such large or larger pistols anyway.

One of the differences between the LD2011X and the LD2011A is that the LD2011A isn't big enough for a full-size pistol/holster installation on the left inside wall. The LD2011X makes much better use of the factory console space, so there's more useable room inside, which is another reason to select that model.

My comments on the five pictures below:

Picture 1: The completed installation and a picture from above. The unit is very easily installed. If you can use a screwdriver and a wrench, you're qualified to do a professional installation of the LD2011X. Heck, you can probably figure it out without even reading the short instruction sheet included, and the instruction sheet even has pictures for the reading challenged.

Picture 2: One of my Sig Sauer full-size P250 pistols, and the one that will be housed in my 2010 Chevy Tahoe.

Picture 3: A washed-out flash picture with the flash showing some black marker "lines" to the upper left of the installed holster. Whoops, I forgot to remove the mess, uh, "lines" before I took the picture. Believe it or not, some of those "lines" helped me to position the holster perfectly before drilling two holes used to permanently mount the holster to the left inside wall of the LD2011X with two small screws/washers/nuts.

I know this thread is a couple of months old but thought I'd throw this out there in case anyone might be interested in the future.

Just added the "Lock'er Down" - the LD2011X (not the E model - the X adds a TON more room after being installed)

I didn't bother installing the front and back panel and cross bar, it's secure enough with just the left, right and top panels bolted together and you gain a little more room.

After it was installed the safe, I bought some "industrial strength" velco and a Maxpedition holster. I put in the velcro on the back of the holster, inserted my CCW and then peeled the velcro backing.

I then, carefully lined up where I wanted the holster and pressed the whole setup so that the velcro adhesive was placed where I wanted.

Here's the Maxped holster that I used:

The only thing that isn't perfect is that holster sits a little bit to far towards the driver side under the lip of the safe but it's not horrible.

My only knock on the safe is that there is no notch in the front edge to be able to use the 12v power that's located inside the console and run a cord out of the safe with being able to close the safe lid.

As long as you are comfortable with it that's all that matters. If it were me I'd epoxy a plastic or wooden block in between to give enough clearance when drawing the pistol. The last thing I'd want in a defensive force situation is for my weapon to get caught up on the console.

I think you should change your name to the candyman! Lots of sugar in that safe too.
