In my 2021 Yukon Denali the screen behind the steering wheel is almost always asking me to change the battery in my key fob. I have a single key fob in the car, and this happens even if I've just put a fresh battery in. I've tried a couple different brands, including a Duracell 2450 3V battery. But I keep getting this message.

Any tips on what exact battery model/brand works best and a source to buy it?

Welcome to the forum from Virginia. Is your rig still under warranty? Obviously they won’t replace a battery but maybe it’s a different issue? If not I’d go with the original battery size. I’ve had good success with Energizer.

Sounds like the issue is within the fob itself. Replace if still under warranty, or go to a local locksmith and purchase a new fob at a reasonable price.

I had the same issue with some knockoff batteries I bought on amazon. Bought a 5-pack and replaced the battery twice before buying a single Duracell and trashing the knockoffs. Haven't had a problem since.

Hi there,
Did you ever figure out what was going on with your key fob? I am having the same issue in my 2019 Tahoe. Just started a month ago. I have changed out the batteries in both key fobs and still having the notification everytime I start it up.

The OP hasn't been on here since sometime last year.

You may want to disconnect your negative battery cable for a minute to see if it resets. If you go to most parts stores or Ace hardware they have a display that can tell you if the battery is low without removing it. It’s a long shot but lots of these batteries sit on shelves a long time and may be weak when you install them.
