Anyone have any idea if you can convert a dual cat to a single inlet exhaust and still get a good flow through? what's the difference as to why there are two types of exhaust systems available for a '99 hoe? I have the two cat - two inlet muffler system. Are there two downpipe offerings for these?

Thanks.

So From what i hear you want a single inlet? Well you could get a Y-pipe that is what i did if i remember i did 2 1/4 inch dual inlet and then 3 inch out... I did it because i wanted the super 10 series from flowmaster.. sounds awesome with my 383 xD

Thanks much. Is that a direct fit to the two outlet from the cats? Or did you have to get some pipes made to neck down to mate with the two inlets on this Y?

Thanks.

Looks like a really nice weld up. How close to the cats do you think you can mount that Y?

Thx. D

not sure how close i am not a pro at exhaust i am only 17 lol but i am learning about stuff with my dad and by my self. I would call the local shop and ask but i love the sound of that thing with that super 10 I always get heads turned when i drive around town. Becuase they hear a loud exhaust .... But another thing is the ricers around town with there pipe and four banger honda civc they can smoke me... so at the light they go for it i stomp on it and i just launch and they cant catch up lol...

I got a 383 stroker with that exhuast, headers, chip, throttle body spacer, K&N intake system, and chipped i get told all the time i am running like 400hp its a fun rig though for what it is.

Nice pipes and it was welded neatly! Great job! By the way how much did you spent for this? Actually I am also planning a replacement exhaust components project and I am thinking of having a new muffler and cat. converter.

shit i think the y pipe was.... $35 i think and then the muffler was 69.95 with lifetime warranty :rocking: and the weld was $35 i ran out of wire and gas. So i had to go to the local muffler place and have them do the rest.

edit here is the price

muffler: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/ac...&fromString=search&itemIdentifier=334353_0_0_

y pipe: shit cant remember where i got it but its a 2 2 inch and a 1/4 dual inlet and single 3 out. but its made by magnaflow i remember but flowmaster makes y pipes to.
