So I bought a 2012 Denali awd about 6 months ago. Had about 90k on it. Put about 5k on it since. So I’m sitting at about 95k. So that 100k service is due.

Still have a little time but also just bought a 20’ open bow boat. And plan on towing with it.

So I’m doing coolant, trans fluid drain and filter (not flush), oil change (due anyways), front and rear diffs, transfer case, as well as plugs and wires. Oh and installed a derale trans oil cooler in line with the factory one.

Started doing the coolant today, I pumped out the overflow tank and then pulled the lower radiator hose.

Only got me 1.5 gallons. I know I hold 4.5 gallons total. So my question is due I keep adding distilled water, running until fans kick on while also running heater and continue to drain until I run clear ? This would be my best assumption on how to proceed.

Thanks in advance

park it so the front is facing down a incline or jack up the rear a little, if you have to end up running water thru it turn on the heater front & rear full blast on hot

Thanks for the idea, I’ll give that a shot today and see what happens.

Then when your filling/bleeding the system, jack the front up. This will make the res bottle opening the highest point and will help reduce air getting trapped in the system.
