Alright here is the deal.... I currently have a Spectre CAI, Gibson shorty headers and a Gibson 5574 catback exhaust. The good part about this set up is throttle response has been greatly improved and I have a bit of a growl at low RPMs and decent growl at higher RPMs with no drone. I am willing to compromise on the no drone for more growl.

I have contacted Gibson and they don't have a direct replacement muffler but suggested one that will take a little bit of fabrication. Waiting on them to respond with the exact part number. I also have the exhaust shop that did my headers looking for a flowmaster/magnaflow/whatever brand that will give me more growl. However I am turning to the good folks at TYF to see if they have any suggestions. I always see you guys discussing SLP deletes or various other methods to increase sound. So any advice or suggestions on what I can do to increase my exhaust note? I would prefer not to have to buy another catback system but if in the end that is what is necessary I will. So any suggestions or advice?

Go with a tiny cherry bomb extreme or flowmaster 10 series. suprisingly the truck is not super loud while idling or cruisng but it does open up nicely. its single in dual out.

Corsa sport & 3rd cate delete sounds pretty loud for me gives it a very unique sound almost how a vette would sound, i would imagine with aftermarket headers it would be even louder.

63 black series if I delete the 3rd cat would I still pass the emissions test? 3 cats seems a bit extreme so deleting one seems like a good idea.

@Bruizza I've heard from others that did the 3rd cat delete have no problem with passing emissions, but if a visual emission inspection is required and the person inspecting knows what to look for you can probably fail for visual.

Ditch those shorties and go with a long tube with an off-road y-pipe.

I considered the LTs and Y pipe originally. More work than I was willing to put in. Plus I have this stupid emissions test every other year. I am not looking to sound like a NASCAR but man a little more sound would be perfect. Starting to think the 3rd cat is where I am going to start.

That work would've been worth it now ;)
You could've also welded some cats into that Y pipe. That's going to be what I do. Whether I get the dual or y, cats are a must or like you, I will fail my inspection. My yearly inspection, haha.
As long as the cats are in the factory location, everything is cool. At least in NC and MA.

Just for some grunt, grab a smaller muffler and see how you like it.
