How hard is this to replace on a 05 4.8L? Looks like 2 starter bolts, move the starter out of he way and one bolt holding sensor in. Before I check it, is there any possibility the o ring is bad and it can leak oil. Getting some conflicting information about whether it can leak or not...

While I was getting busy with my truck today from what I can see it might be the culprit to the leak we both seem to have. I tried getting a pic of it but got tired of wrestling with the starter and just gave up and cleaned all around. I'll drive it some this weekend and see if it's still leaking from that area. From a YouTube video I saw it doesn't look hard at all just need to get the starter out of the way and that's mostly all the work. Good luck and reply back on his everything works out.

It can leak since it passes throgh the block to measure a reluctor wheel on the rear part of the crankshaft.

The process you stated is correct. Remove starter, disconnect sensor, remove sensor hold-down bolt, remove sensor. (Before any of that disconnect the negative battery cable).

It's a pretty simple job.
