Well pulled the trigger on the pioneer 8500 today. I've got a new vcim with bluetooth in the way as well so I can retain factory bluetooth for phone using the onstar mic. Hopefully!

You'll like the 8500. Only problem with getting one now is the 2013 stuff is getting ready to come out..

:okay2:

But that's ok cause 8500 will still be a great unit and something to have for a while.

Yeah I did see the newest is the 5600bhs but it doesn't have hdmi and the only real upgrade is to add of siri eyes free (or whatever it's called). I think I've used Siri a total of three times since it first came out so I'm not all too worried about not having it. I couldn't find a new model 8xxx series that's coming out soon. I may have missed something though.

they haven't released info on the 8xxx yet. I was waiting too. Not too much could be upgrading to make it worth waiting 1-3 months though.

For some reason I can't find out if I need to get a new piece that connects the factory radio antenna to the new aftermarket radio for FM. Is this needed? Here's everything I'm getting:

Wiring Harness: axxess ADGM-100
Steering Wheel Control: ASWC-1
Dash Kit: Metra double din 95-3305
Parking Break Override: double pulse mini bypass module

Apple Digital Lightning to AV: adapter
Standard HDMI cord

Haven't been able to tell if I need the fm antenna adapter or not for the Pioneer 8500bhs

yes you need one, however, the axxess ADGM-100 will come with one so you do not need to purchase it separately.

For the life of me I can't figure out how to have the pioneer 8500bhs change to digital av to mirror the iPhone. Also when I move all sound to the rear speakers nothing works. Not sure if we maybe wired something wrong or if it has to do with the Bose digital amp.

I have the same issue with the rear speakers. After some troubleshooting and some reading I learned that it is controlled through the amp. So that functionally is gone. You will also notice the rear seat controls change the front source , at least they do with my integration kit (PAC-GM31).

I'm now an android guy so I can't help you with your iPhone, but I will say my connection with my galaxy s3 isn't very stable. I'm still working on that.

Well it found out that to wire the rear speakers the four wires need to be wired into the truck harness and not the 16 pin harness. I'm using the Axxess ADGM100 interface and everything is working great except for wiring the rear speakers incorrectly. Damn manuals are a joke.

Anyone know how to add an additional wire to the oem backup can so that it gets power to turn on while driving. In case I need to see my trailer hitch and all.
