DBW conversion to cable?

Has anyone done a drive by wire conversion to a drive by cable? If so, what would be needed to accomplish this? Thanks

Sounds like an interesting engineering challenge. The ECM has the job of controlling the engine rpm, etc. Now you want to take that control away without the ECM being aware of it.

I would reckon that you need to swap out the complete system, saw a post on this somewhere the other day. Some googling and you should find it. There are ECMs specifically for cable and for wire, plus the throttle bodies, wiring, brackets, etc. It is not an insurmountable task. I do not like the idea of drive by wire even though our military jets have been doing it for decades. My new truck is also drive by wire now that I think about it, probably reacts faster than an old stretched out cable. I ain't changin' it, will have to get used to it.
