Deleted my wiper button. Made an alarm LED instead.

Well my factory switch plan didn't work. Now have to figure out how to gut the wiper switch and install a button that fits in its spot. Come to find out our buttons are a pulse switch. Sends a signal to a relay that switches the lights on
I tried using buttons out of a Silverado with the cargo light button in place of the rear wiper knob.20170918_070350.jpg

Try and see what I can fit in here now 20170918_071136.jpg

Did you try using an actual Silverado Cargo/Foglight switch? Or just the button? I'm thinking you can actually get it to work with an entire truck switch in place of the wiper/fog switch. If I remember correctly, the cargo switch actually closes/latches instead of a pulse like the fog lights. Just figure out the pinouts, and rewire it and you should be good to go, and able to wire it to a relay or whatever else you have in mind.

Both cargo light switches. I Was hoping the pinouts were the same. Which I think they are but I need to use a complete Silverado fog/cargo light button. Because non of these turn on my actual fog lights to begin with. But youre correct the cargo switch seems to have separate contacts for constant on/off.

You are correct, the cargo light is latched. i used one when i added rear foglights in my old z71 roof rack. i used a meter to find the two wires that showed continuity and voila. i just ran ground through it to trigger a relay, didnt trust 12v going through it.

And the fog light switch worked with the same pinouts as your oem fog lights right?
