Hey, all...
I have a 2005 Yukon Denali XL that I plan on upgrading the driving lights on. The family and myself often use this vehicle off road out in the sticks for camping and what not and the factory halogen bulbs aren't cutting it. I have already performed the 6 HI mod and want to get some DDM Tuning HIDs. I have installed those kits on two of my previous vehicles (2008 Titan and 2002 Silverado) and I liked the output and the quality. However, on my 2002 Silverado, the 55w 6000k HIDs melted the lenses off of the fog light housings. Since the NBS Denali fog lights are different, I would like some input from some folks who have converted their Denali's fog lights to HIDs and learn what works and what does not. My plan is to get 55w 5000k 9005s for the lows and highs, and the 55w 5000k 880 kit for the fogs. I also plan on installing a 40" led light bar in the lower bumper opening at a later date.
Before someone says it, don't worry, I won't be using all of these lights on public roads, just the low beams in projector housings.
I also tried to search, but it didn't really answer my question about the melted housings.
Thanks in advance.
