Nice to know, Thanks for the helpful info.Yeah the ping pong ball is a trade secret. lol
I have 2 balls placed on either side to stabilize the Depo headlights. Some guys report no issues and like you and I they wobble a bit and the adjustment is wonky too. But they look great and the output is plenty good for me as well.
Quick note on my setup just so you can think about it.
I put Depos in with ping pong balls and halogens. Worked great, but alignment was off a bit on passenger side. A bit higher than I liked, but being lowered I am usually below the trunk lid anyways and hitting that side of the road sign is not such a bad thing.
I found a donor pair of OEM brackets at the junk yard to mess around with. I swapped over and ditched the ping pong balls and drove it for awhile.
Then I got the Vouke VK-5s LED bulbs which were not going to fit with the braided cooling fins. So the Depos got the Depo brackets back on and the LEDs fit great, but they wobbled a bit. Ping pong balls x 2 put back in each side and they are good to go albeit the passenger side alignment is still a bit high. I like the cutoff, the white LED light and projector output for a city driven Tahoe is okay by me.
Here are some pics to see.
Ping pong balls wedged in place. I ended up painting them black and you cannot tell that they are there unless the hood is up.

Comparison between OEM on top and Depo bracket mounted.

Depo top and OEM bottom. Subtle differences but make the adjustment process a little tricky and fitting the LED assembly tough and I wasn't in for Dremel work. The OEM brackets are much stiffer anyways.

I wrote about this in my build thread. The adjustment screws shown below are different thread styles. The Depo one would not thread correctly into the OEM bracket, hence the difficulty in proper adjustment beyond what the 2 pins that hold the entire headlight in place really offer.
