Did I maybe fry my ECM or BCM??

To program with a Tech2, you can longer purchase the Tech2 as a standalone device anymore.

The Tech2 software integrated into a WIN 7 or 10 laptop is needed, along with the MDI device or the VX Nano which is really finicky until you learn all the work arounds.

To program a GM device on the bench, like a BCM or other new, off the shelf device is something I have no idea on what is required.

Not necessarily fully true. I program with a WinXP laptop using TIS2000 and my Tech 2. TIS2000 has all the NBS (and more) calibrations and does program through the Tech 2.

Certainly not the most modern setup but it works fine for its intended purpose.

This was a job for a Tech-2, not the Innova.

I know my Innova can't do stuff like that, it's pretty much a mid tier "basic" code reader. It can read live data, ABS codes and Airbag module codes, but that's about the extent of it.

And my mechanic wasn't using a Tech II , he was using an Autel. When I asked what scanner/code reader he used, he sent me this picture.
