Like many others on here, I had the problem on one pump (up to 3-4 times clicking off on its own) and then wont have that problem again for weeks. I thought some pumps were just more sensitive than others. If this was truly a problem, wouldnt it get worst over time. These gaps of inconsistency easily make us think its the pump rather than the car....

Those of you that had this issue including OP, was this super consistent? Like every pump or other pump required 3+ resets?

This is a problem constantly pissing me off...I have replaced my purge valve and still have the issue. I can tell when it is going to happen because it starts to almost whistle when the gas is getting pumped in and then the gas pump clicks off....so annoying. If it isn't is a VERY specific position (has to be a 100% straight angle) it does it constantly. So maybe I need to take this piece apart you guys are talking about and clean it out?

Mine ended up being the charcoal canister on both my 05 Tahoe and 05 Denali. It's an R&R item, while it is off I blew compressed air into the line which starts to pressurize the gas tank you can see it start to bulge. Then when you stop little charcoal bb's come shooting back out the vent line. I did that until none came out any more.
