It is really easy to take off the door panels. I would do that just to make sure.
Found out the hard way lol. Screw at the bottom of the panel

Has it really almost been 10 months? Haha. Well since the last post I decided to just put it all back together. Clean, but here in the last couple months I've gutted it back out even more this time. I'll post pics after work with details...

Pulled the headliner, sob was easy until those bastard coat hanger clips on the back. I wouldn't forsee them going back in if I didn't need them to support the rear of it. This is how she sits now

Even took out the dash cap, before cleaning the dust. Oh yea I found $8 in quarters under it

The roof. If anyone needs pics of anything specific of it gutted let me know.

I tried prying on them and they didn't budge. They aren't screwed or glued to the panel are they? I may have to remove each panel and knock them out from the inside

one bolt holds them on the bottom of the door panel, then they just slid out. Use a plastic pry tool to get them started.

is there a metal roof brace over the driver's and passenger's seat? I had an 03 Yukon and the roof was rock solid. Now I have an 06 Yukon and the roof is real flimsy; almost as if GM skimped on the price and left the brace off.

No, just the center piece that divides them as shown in the 3rd picture. The overhead console has a tab and a screw to the part closest to the windshield, other than that It just takes up space. When adding sunroof I'd suppose you would just cut it after the bolt hole for the overhead console. I can post a better picture around 5pm CST

Thanks!!! Please post a better pic if you can. Maybe my truck is missing the glue in between the brace and roof skin???

Thanks! I pulled my roof console and the dome light over the second row seats and saw the same braces. I'm inclined to believe that the 06 just has thinner metal. My 03 I could wrap on the cab has hard as I wanted and it did not flex hardly at all. On my 06 the whole area above the center console area flexes like crazy just tapping on it. How is yours?

I haven't pulled on it so I'm unsure. Still contemplating whether putting in a factory salvage sunroof but the leaks and motor failures are a luxury I don't have to worry about. Does your have the seal foam under it like mine in the pic? I suggest adding something to reinforce it since its all tack welds anyway.

I decided to tackle the source of my front A/C leak today. Narrowed it down to a faulty and ugly evaporator core. And while I'm at it, the heater core, re-tape any harnesses and repair any seals.

---------- Post added at 07:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:32 PM ----------

I'm already down to bare minimum interior so pulling the front seats and center console was simple.

With busted knuckles, cleaning out the case, custom bolt hunting for the core, and having the hardest time getting it out I wish I took more pics.

The heater core I ordered from RockAuto turned out not to be the one I needed. Shipping it back, and no I won't be pulling the dash again unless it fails.

The oem is larger with shorter tubes

Caught a few plug harnesses from the passenger side fuse box behind the case when I buttoned it up, had to drop it again to fish it out along with the antenna and ground lead near the windshield. Remembered to snap a pic

Got the removal down to a science now but don't look forward to doing it again. All that is left to do is shoot screws for the dash, large bolts are already back in for support.
