wow! I would have put a pre 03 heater plenum in to get the cabin air filters. Sucks they dropped that it 03. oh? when you tap on your roof from the outside is it nice and firm? I may pull my front headliner down and spray a little of that expanding foam in the cracks to fill the void.

It sounds firm. I have the bottom still open, making sure no leaks or unexpected things occur just in case I have to remove it again. Thinking about putting sound deaderer throughout

Ok I've had a box from Summit with 15 cans of SEM Landau Black for about 2 months and figured why not. I cleaned all the removed panels and placed them on a tarp in my garage a week ago, figured I'd wax/grease them as I was ready to shoot the paint. I started a few pieces before I wrote this so I'll take a pic of what's left to do minus some miscellaneous door panel and headliner pieces.

I started off with the passenger side airbag as a test for the color and to gauge the adhesion promoter. I used Dupli-Color. Surprisingly I've layed 3 coats of promoter for all dash related pieces with just one can, 4 left.

I think it turned out nice with 3 coats. I'm by far no professional or even an good amateur spray can painter but with some ingenuity of some cardboard, packing material for overspray, and the help of my garage door rails and rubber straps to hang parts my dash cap and related pieces are done.

Went ahead and did the glove box and the trim beneath the steering wheel. Fuse door covers on each side of the dash cap are next.

Thanks. That '06 looks fantastic. When I get it all done I want to go black exterior, black trim/bumpers and black 22" LTZ myself

Thx man. I actually went the other direction and recently finished color matching all the black textured pieces - door handles, mirrors, front bumper cap, lower valence, rear glass 3rd brake applique. Completely changed the look. The only black is the rear bumper pads. The black would probably look good on the your white tho.

How hard is it to pull the carpet including everything on top - seats, trim, etc...? I need to replace mine and cannot justify paying the shop to do something I can manage myself.

It's a breeze actually. Remove the front seats, middle seats are a pain they are very heavy if it's a bench, and the 3rd row if you have them. Then remove the center console it has two bolts beneath the radio behind the tray/cig lighter and a bulk wire harness beneath the cup holder. The tabs for it slide under the inside bolts of the front seats.

You don't have to remove any of the pillars but the front kick panels may assist with removal of the front half. Pop out the 4 door sills. For the cargo half you have to remove the star bolts for the cargo hold-downs. Use star impact sockets. Also remove the rear hatch door sill trim it also pops out. The trim that outlines the 3rd row hooks lift out on their own and with the rear carpet. All that is left are the brittle and easily torn insulation.

Remember not to trash it just yet, use it as a template of where to cut access holes for bolts, harnesses, etc

Stripped the old material off of the headliner. Be careful as it can crack easily. Started at one corner and worked gradually left to right and so forth long ways until I was at the middle going downward, flipped it 180°, and started again. Now to order black suede online and get some 3M headliner spray from O'Reillys
