Am looking for a good mechanic or shop for my 2006 GMC yukon denali in the DC, Maryland Virginia metro area.

Any referrals will be greatly appreciated.

Have had multiple visits to the dealership and other shops for a specific issue "tighten fuel cup" several parts have been replaced by both nearby dealership and 2 other shops but keeps coming back. I currently have a disabled vehicle in the shop since I got engine washed a mr Kleen car wash in Alexandria.

Towed to dealership service center and diagnosis indicated low fuel psi. Fuel pump replaced but symptoms remain the same.

Symptoms: starts and dies right away.

Please help me find gooe tech for my baby.

is the "security" light flashing? if so you need to turn the key to start and let it sit almost exactly 10 min 30 sec until the security light stops flashing then turn the key to off for about 30 seconds, then start and drive.

and if it's not that then there is a fuel pump control relay in the back under the spare mounted to the body, those are known to go bad from being exposed to the elements

Theres a couple in the Woodbridge area. I've gone to Steve's in Woodbridge before (for inspections). But I also know a guy (cant remember the name of his shop) but he is the only one that has worked on my truck beside me. I can give you his info if you want.

Strosnider Chevrolet just south of Richmond replaced the entire AFM system on my motor and she runs like a top. Probably too far away.

What is needed is someone with a bi-directional scan tool like the Tech-2 and knows how to use it! That and the factory service manual allow problems to be pinpointed usually within minutes. After being on this forum for near 2 years, I'm starting to see dealerships as the go to place and not private shops as they do not have the skills or knowledge to work on these computerized trucks. With the problems you're having, there has to be codes stored. Not just in the ECM, but also in the BCM and possibly other modules but only a dealer level scan tool can pull them out. If you like this truck, buy your own Tech-2 like so many of us on here have done. Even if you cannot fix it yourself, you'll then at least know what's wrong and what needs doing to fix it without getting ripped off by lazy, ignorant and or unscrupulous mechanics.
