Hey guys, I bought a 99 two door Tahoe brand new back in 99 when I knew they were going bye bye. Always wanted one so I pulled the trigger way back. Still own it and she just turned 105 k.
Recently I had a coolant leak coming from up front. Thought it was going to be the radiator. Got it on the lift and saw it was coming from around the water pump area. Long story short hose clamp rodded... new hose clamp done deal. In the meantime I was trying to find the drain on the radiator which is like impossible to get to so I just said screw it pulled the hose put a new clamp on and put it on as quick as I could and topped it off.
During the search for the drain, down in the driver side lower corner of the engine bay I found a110v plug with a cap on it. Couple of the prongs are all rotted but it was zip tied down tight in that corner. Do I actually have a block heater and never knew it? I have every lick of paperwork including the window sticker and it mentions nothing about it. I'd assume it's a block heater. What else could it be? Picture of it here:
