That is not the adaptive cruise control button. That is the button for the Forward Collision Alert. If equipped with adaptive cruise control, the button would be in the same spot, but with a slightly different illustration that shows one car following another, but not hitting the car in front.

Well it is on my Yukon XL, Tahoe must be different.

No, I think the problem is that the GM owners manual is confusing with its symbols. Unfortunately, I believed what I read.
