I'm on a mission to find some white needles and if it takes buying a whole new cluster, the so be it. I recently pulled my off, and when stripping the orange paint off with acetone, it cause the needles to blur out. Now, I have clear needles that are blurry as shit :(

Sooooo, my next grand idea is to just buy a new cluster since my gas gauge does the bouncy thing. Hopefully I cant solve two problems with one stone.

Escalade/Denali/Limited cluster all have clear needles and the blue/teal back lighting. I am pretty confident you can sand that off and have them be white. Planning on doing this within the next 2 weeks so I will post up a write up if it is possible, and hopefully my internet at home will be up to do it. I know you are going for the all white gauge look also so I will keep you posted.

Sweet!!!! As it sits right now, my cluster is sitting on my work bench and has been for the last two weeks...... thankfully my hoe isn't a daily driver cause i'd be in shit creek huh..

I like the white needles and want my gas gauge to stop bouncing so i guess my only option is to buy a cluster online huh.....

Thanks for the updates in the future haks!!!!

i told you they were blue man.. It would take for ever to "sand" off the blue, ive heard of it, but never in my life would try it.. dude that cluster is 70 bucks shipped, not even i odnt think. Go to GM and get the needles from an escalade. And if you buy that cluster on ebay and it bounces too, then its your problem with the fuel pump and grounding issues, not your cluster.. so putting in a new gauge wont always solve the problem man..

I know...we talked about the esclade cluster though, not the limited....I was hoping i would get lucky with the other types....

I hate the blue look...maybe I'll just go to GM. IDK. I'd like to solve both problems. The one's on ebay come with a warranty, so if the gauge bounces and i don't like it, i can always return it - shipping.

I know I have seen someone over at FSC sand the color off there gauges to make them clear/white, didn't seem to take long at all. His was a 94 I believe though so different style cluster but I am sure they are both similarly assembled. Picked up an esky cluster earlier today off of ebay, along with a few other goodies, but I'll save those for another thread. Hopefully it gets here soon so I can see whats up and do a write up.

sweet...I'm thinking of just painting my needles white on three sides and putting them back in there until you finish your job, so as to not keep my truck down any longer.
