That is, the backside cap on the mirror that is painted to match the body of the truck. Mine came off somewhere and it doesn't seem to be a part that is easily located. Any ideas? It can't cost that much to have it painted so i'm not worried about that i'd just like to locate one.

check out our web site(1aauto.com)

I actually did check you guys out but i can't find just the backing. The mirror i have is BRAND NEW. But the incompetent shop that put it on didn't peel the protective backing off of the double stick tape so the black glossy part flew off. So i don't need the whole mirror just the back. Am i just not seeing it?

I had the same problem. No one sells the mirror caps only. The dealer used to sell them pre-painted. The only OEM mirror caps available is the chrome set for the Silverado. About $60. I bought them and they fit perfect. Can be sanded and painted too.

I would make the body shop pay for it.

That was my plan, but after Christmas break when I went back to tell them what they had done they had closed up shop. Just my luck.
