Does removing V4 hinder mileage THAT much?

I can't get to any black bear event where I live. Is there a special tuner I can buy, one better than another, and tune it myself?

I have a Superchips handheld. It's recently updated, it tunes the engine and transmission, bigger/smaller wheels, has an 87 Gas mileage Tune, and 87 performance tune, 91 performance tune, and a Towing tune. It can turn 4 cylinder off as well. It's very customize-able. I've been running superchips stuff for 20 years and I've never been disappointed. Great customer service as well

I go to see my brother every couple weeks and he's a 90 minute highway trip away. I forgot to turn AFM off when I got my DiabloSport back and re-installed the 87 octane tune. 18.6mpg vs 16.5mpg on my last trip

I think I'll leave it on for now.
