Would a bad lifter cause a misfire?Has a noisy injector type of sound, but that could still be a bad lifter.
YesWould a bad lifter cause a misfire?
So if I don't have a misfire then it isn't a lifter right?
Depends... It could be a partially dead lifter, and causing a partial fire. Its rare, but does happen. Basically the lifter isnt opening the rocker/valve all the way, only partially. This would cause the air/fuel ratio to be off, and cause a misfire or shake in the engine. Usually this would still be picked up by the ECM thou.So if I don't have a misfire then it isn't a lifter right?
I do notice a slight shake, but It wouldn't seem like anything out of the ordinary for a v8 to me. I have a scanner hooked up and I have not seen any codes for a misfire.Depends... The second video is just from the wheel wheel as the sounds was more prominent. Not sure what the second video is about but the erratic slapping tick sound in V1 sure sounds like a lifter/rocker arm. I'd pinpoint the side and pull that valve cover, watch for something not right.
