I’ve been looking for a pistol holster for my 08 Tahoe. Specifically I’d like one that fits in the door pocket or cup holder. I’m a left so I’d rather not have something that fits between the seat and console or mounts underneath the steering wheel.

Has anyone seen anything like this?

I’d go with something like this instead of on the door. Less jostling from the door getting opened and shut.

Not what you're looking for, but I kinda like the idea of the Vulcan QuickDraw

Otherwise, since you're a lefty, wouldn't an IWB holster for a righty work in the door pocket or cup cutout for you? The belt clip would be on the correct side and may secure over the edge of the pocket.

If I think about it, I'll try one of mine and see how well it clips/secures into that pocket tomorrow

What size pistol we talking?

maybe one of those magnet ones attached on the inside of the pocket would hold it in place.

If you get a chance to try it that’s be great. I’ve been thinking about going this route but not sure the clip would hold it on the door securely.

A standard glock 17. My buddy has one of the magnet mounts in his Silverado and it works really well. I’m just worried about cracking the plastic when trying to install it.

understandable. I dont like drilling holes in my interior. Some good double sided tape may hold it ok. Never tried it since mines in between the seat and console.

are we talking the gun goes inside the pocket or hangs on the outside of it?

id be more worried if it was on the outside of it and end up bumping into it.

Definitely on the inside.

When you’re a southpaw there’s no good solution for an interior mount unless you’ve got a RHD vehicle. There’s no set time, except the wrong time, that a door holster will separate from the door/card.

The inertia of the door opening and closing starts a timer for the holster to separate. Add the piece in that holster and it occurs exponentially faster. Training your unfavored hand til it has memory to group at least 4-5 is best practice.
