Has anyone tried this to repair a broken screw hole in the stock distributor?

I kept my Delco distributor with 1 broken ear because of aftermarket horror stories, may grab this as insurance.

ha i wish i had known about them lol. i have fixed one before with some jb and i drilled and tapped it. was a friends junk truck but it worked.

Because I broke mine on the 35th installation chasing a no-start after intake manifold replacement!
The second I suspect my aftermarket distributor I’m putting that and new Delco cap and rotor on. I found it accidentally on RockAuto looking for the crank sensor harness.

A mechanic buddy says he used tie wraps for years when 1 of his broke

i can see that working easier than jb just a couple rednecks using whatever is on hand ya know.
