hi, sorry if someone has posted a thread like this before but i did a little research on here and couldnt quite find what i was looking for. a couple weeks ago the lock button on my remote stopped working properly and would only work about 50% of the time. didnt think much of it at first. thought the battery in it might be dying or something. but then one day the lift gate and window locks stopped working. couldnt get them to open until i found a video on how to manually do it. frustrating as f*@%. started to think the 2 issues were related. and then today, my driver door lock stopped responding. i can only lock and unlock it with the key or by manually sliding the lever. now i really think everything is related and that it cant be a huge coincidence that the 3 locks and the button on the remote just randomly stopped working at about the same times. any information on this issue would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Could be the RCDLR module or the BCM. I don't really know how to diagnose this without a Tech2. Where do you live? Maybe someone here lives nearby and has one.

Eric the Tech2 is the scan tool that the dealerships use/used to use to work on our trucks. It can see just about everything with a wire attached to it and test it and program modules, etc. I consider it a must have tool for working on these trucks, saving both precious time and money. Mine paid for itself twice already. Since GM has moved on to other machines, the prices have come way down, you can buy a new one for about $300 depending on options.

Sometimes a swtiches contacts get loose or corroded and of course eventually fail. Sometimes the failure is in those other places as mentioned earlier. It's a guessing game without the right tools.

So I finally had the chance to do some more probing. Checked fuses first and couldn't find a bad one so I removed the panels and started checking for power. There was approximately 9.3 volts going into the lift gate actuator when I hit the lock and unlock buttons but nothing going out to the other harnesses. So I took a guess and assumed the actuator is the problem. Ordered a new one off Amazon and should be here Friday. Will install and update on here asap.

So the new actuator came in pretty quick and was surprisingly cheap off Amazon. Instantly knew it was going to work because the arm on it moved freely where the old one was stuck in locked position. Took about 15 minutes to install and everything now works perfectly. The buttons on the remote still only work at random but I'm pretty sure it's just the remote going out.
