So my loose drivers seat just became dangerous. I was leaning back to get my wallet out of my back pocket and I heard a loud pop pop pop and my seat reclined. I pulled it forward and now it just slowly reclines by itself and makes a whole bunch of popping noises (worse than before). Looks like I'm making a trip to pull and pay in the morning.

All the seats at the yard were trash. It also said they had a Denali and was just a mislabeled Yukon.

my 97 has same issue. drivers seat with power track. if I lower the seat all the way then no play but when its 1/3 way up or more then rocks when stopping/bumps/etc. It also has enough slop to jam the power adjustment sliding seat forward or backward. I can see joint in rail where metal is worn to sloppy tolerance. I thought would be a simple bushing fix but the more i search it looks like a crappy design and will need to change the rails out. I assume others have had this problem. ???

Sounds like you went the smart route and swapped for the 99 rails. i believe those are the beefier, redesigned rails.

Maybe it wasn't so smart because the seat is a 99 and that's what failed.

my "99" has the same recline type slop in it. I can reach back and pull forward on the seat and it moves about 2 to 3 inches forward. I need to look into fixing this.
