Dual Battery Sizes

This shoudl probably go in the electronics section, but teh general section gets way more traffic.

Looking to upgrade to a dual battery setup. Trying to find the biggest batts i can fit under the hood. Ive done some measurements, just wanna see what people have already done so i can see how fitment is.

Also is it absolutely necessary to run the battery isolator? Im only planning on upgrading the system to suppy my system with steady voltage and wont be playing it without the vehicle on.

Looking at optima, kinetik, odyssey, stinger, XS. Just looking for some examples of models that fit and how they look. Thanks!!

I am not running a battery isolator. When the batteries meet like in photo 3 they will charge each other. I had my radio turned up for about 4 hours and I did't have any problems starting it up. She runs like a charm.

I went with the D34 Yellow Top due to it's capacity.

Thanks for the pics! I jsut bought a lot of stuff lately. 2 optimas, jbl 2200.1, 2 15wgti, ton of wire connectors. Ill post build pics when it gets goin

I just asked the local GMC dealer to give me a price for this. Including labor, wiring harness, extra battery...$975. Said the last time they did it took half a day. They don't much like the idea of just the extra battery and a couple of cables.
