Did a little work today but it started raining. I removed a few panels and I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to run 16ga wire though the doors.

Back speakers barely fit. The magnet is pressed against the door structure. Should I add a thin piece if foam/rubber? Will it rattle?

I also did some measuring today for the fitment of the 8s up front.

I was a little worried that they would hit the windows and not fit. Well if my measurements are right they will have about 1/2" space between the window and the magnet.

Here is a pic from the inside:

And from the outside. Speaker positioned on an angle to match the angle of the door panel.

Sidenote: Using the factory mounting base for front door speakers there is about 2.75" before you hit the window. I will measure the back doors and post the results later.

Had some time so I pulled and fished wire today for the passenger side. I'm using 18 gauge for the 6.5s and tweeters. For the 8s I'm using 16 gauge.

Kinda a how-to to pull wire in a 95-00 tahoe/yukon.

First remove the kick panels, front door panels, back door speaker panel, and the two step panels. My amp is under the back seat, so that's where I'm taking the wire.

Back door. Pull the boot off and feed in the wire in.

Pull it out the B pillar. Then routed towards under the back seats.

Don't lose your bolts.

The back door is cramped so I used another wire to pull the 20ga through to the speaker hole.

Front doors. Pop the boot off and feed the wire in.

Pop open the conduit and lay the new wire in.

I really did not go over this thread, but I went over your GMFS thread. Dude, re-do that wiring. You could seriously burn down your truck. It's hack-tastic. I did not notice, but did you even upgrade the charging system in your truck to handle that?

Seriously, fix that wiring asap. Your box looks awesome, great job on that. And I'd ditch the mirror thingy. It looks cool...on a JDM car. Not a American suv. Plus, that JDM mirror does not look right when you put a 1940's GMC emblem on your truck. I like the emblem. I'd color match the bottom section of it and I think it would look sweet!

Not trying to be a GMFS *******, just trying to give some advice

purplehoe, are you talking about the tape around the wires? If so I think that was what he was using to feed/pull the speaker wire, (I think). And Dylan the hood mirror is just a little over the top "IMO" its not old school jdm toyota just looks outta place like a flying horse as a hood ornament or something just dont fit again "IMO" , but again its your truck not my taste and rock it if you want it! love the mods youve done to your truck and actually thinkin about the rearview mirror myself.
