look kinda poopy, and craigslist is sketchy about buying stuff and having them send it. Ive done it on numerous occasions. but beware..
Actually those numbers are only slightly exagurated, but the gains are impressive.
Removing the clutch fan gains you about 15hp.
Both fans running full tilt 100% consume ~20amps.
10amp load on alternator = 1 hp stolen from engine.
So lets do some math.
+15hp - mech fan removal
-2hp - alt load from efans
=13hp gain.
I was good with 13 more horses for less than $100...
have him send it. I got mine from michigan and never even got off my ass to get it.. well besides to open the door for the UPS man. lol
allofcraigs.com It searches every craigslist ad so you dont need to go search city by city
theres a way around everything.
Hum... site said 28 amps but I'd like to understand the formula you used to get 10 ampload on the alt? I'm guessing it's taken from the battery due to the fact the alt's actually give them more amps durring charging then the batt needs or the systems actually consume? Or am I fogetting a fundamental. It has been over 10 years since I worked arround it. Not going to debate your post because I figured 12hp originally but did'nt sound right but I also figured those motors would draw more then 20 or 28 combined and figured about 35 to 40. You can see how long it's been since I had to play with no factory fans lol....
If using a gasoline engine instead of a diesel, with a slightly lower 2 to 2.5:1 drive ratio, figure on a requirement of about 1 hp per 15 amps of output power
About 1hp for every 12 amps.
