No one really know where this is going concerning vehicle that tow and haul large loads. Personally, If I had a prized RV or 5th wheel, I'd buy the last year that a Cummins was available and ride it for 10+ years.
Another issue as EV comes on is generating capacity. It has been proven that if 90% of Calif switched to EV, they would be woefully short in generating capacity to power all the vehicles in garages, let alone its industry base....

The major problem is they keep taking power plants offline that can be used as base capacity. Those are plants that can change their output up or down to meet demand. Wind and solar can't do that and do not perform well at night. That is when most folks will be charging their EVs. Our country had better build more natural gas fired power plants or nuclear plants to meet this upcoming demand or rolling black outs will be the new norm at night. Scary stuff considering it takes close to 10 years to get a new power plant up and running but our lawmakers are not even addressing base capacity but pushing EVs that will overload the grid well before new plants can come online Very short sighted in my opinion

That’s a pretty good ratio...80% of those who try an EV buy another EV.

EV’s and hybrids are here to stay but I’m not sure that’s the point the blog was trying to make...

If you had a dedicated short daily commute an EV would be perfect. I have a friend in FL and his wife is a doctor at a local hospital 10 miles away. Back and forth many times. Drives a Tesla and is perfect for them for this purpose. Charges in the garage every night.
But on the flip side of this, her husband has a new hemi Ram 1500 for when they go across state for sports events, etc. Also of minor concern is Hurricane evacuation which just happened during Irma in 2017. Many people sat 6 hrs on 75 trying to evacuate SWFL... EV's just wouldn't cut it in this situation...

The point of the article was why people gave up their EV’s. Battery charging. Not living in private homes or having access to charging stations. Also the batteries are not completely recyclable.

EV’s are great if that’s what YOU want, need and can afford. They are not for everyone and shouldn’t be forced upon everyone.

And that is why I have diesel vehicles... 30% further range, Stations are NEVER out of diesel in emergency situations and you don't have to wait in the line. 600 mile range...
Also it was reported that there were EV's along 75 abandoned because they ran out of reserve and caught rides with other vehicles. If you are sitting in a heavy tropical storm pounding rain with lights on, wipers on high, and AC on high because its 90+ degrees and 90% humidity creeping along at 5 mph, you can bet that battery percentage meter will be dropping steadily and if you get off at an exit with a charger, you have no guarantee they will have electric at all during a hurricane...No thanks...
