Emergency Brake?

Today I noticed that when I took off my emergency brake, it is still holding a little. The light comes off and everything, but when I go into reverse, it moves a little and then stops. has this happened to anyone? i checked the cable that goes to the release pully thingy (i don't know what its called exactly) and that is working fine. I havn't driven it at all after this happened. any help would be great! i have an 03 tahoe z71

It might worth checking rear cables ,they will hang up if not used much or they might be frozen. Reach around behind the wheel and shake the cable and see if that works.
