so I have my truck at the shop right now because of cylinder six misfire and they said that there is zero compression what are some common causes?
I have already been told I'm looking at 1600 worth

Most common IMO would be a broken valve spring...what are they proposing to do for $1600?

$1600 is a reasonable price for removing and replacing both cylinder heads...however...if they have isolated the cylinder there is a very good chance there is a broken intake or exhaust valve spring. A quick visual with the valve cover off will reveal that problem quickly. The repair for that issue shouldn't take more than 2 or three hours plus a new valve spring with retainers.
