Hi Local junk yard have almost brand new vortec 5.3 engine from a 2006 tahoe with only 53k miles on it my current 6.0 engine was not cared for runned 10k to 15k between oil changes and now it's ticking really bad do you think this 5.3 engine will fit in a 2001 yukon denali and if any modification needed will the 01 denali transmission will work with this 5.3 engine

It should work fine, the cat set up on the 6.0 is different, not sure if that matters because the manifolds should be the same. Just need a computer flash to make it work correctly, Im sure Black Bear can help with that.

Kind of useless to go backwards, and it would be very noticeable. My 6.0 has had a lifter tick since the day I bought it, about 7 years now. if you have oil pressure and it doesn't knock like the Hulk at your front door, drive it, save your money and rebuild it when its time.
