engine ?

so i recently got a 99 tahoe and she starts right up, runs smooth, but feels like its heavy, or working hard, i am coming from a 2 litre turbo charged car so it could just be that, i am going on a long camping trip and was thinking of using that trip to sea foam my truck, thinking that may clean it up make it feel crisper, maybe rev a little quicker, is this recommended?

just adding seafoam in the gas tank will give you minimum results. What most people do is pull the fuel pump relay so you dont have any gas getting to the TB. Then you pull the vacuum hose off the master brake cylinder and VERY SLOWLY pour seafoam into the hose with a funnel while somebody cranks the truck for you, too much and youll flood it. I cant stress how little it takes... i pretty much let the vacuum suck the seafoam out of the can when i do it. So you let it run on about 1/3-1/2 of the can then i usually go ahead and dump some in the line to flood it and shut it off. Put your hose back on and let it sit for at least 20 minutes or so then reinstall your relay and fire her up. what your gonna want to do is rev it at high rpms for a few minutes til it quits smokin. Depending on how much carbon build up you have it will smoke... ALOT. but thats good cause thats carbon burning off in your motor. Dump the rest of the can in your gas tank and there ya go.... youtube it tons of people do it and its not gonna hurt it....

Your old car probably weighed half as much and revved twice as high. You're basically talking about a night and day difference in the "feel" of the car. How many other trucks have you driven. If you're not familiar with a big heavy truck...especially a 4x4 it's going to feel giant like you're driving a tank.

Get your truck good and warm, in 2wd and mash the gas pedal all the way down, you should have some fairly decent acceleration, maybe on par with a civic?

Seafoam isn't going to do squat for your power/weight ratio.

Agree with hotrod. You probably just have to get used to the feel of the truck. These trucks aren't slow, but then again they are big heavy trucks so its pretty much a given there will be a difference in feel. You said you had a 2.0 litre turbo... did you have a 240sx with an sr20? Just curious, haha.

Seafoam will do you some good as far as maintenance goes, but I don't think you'll see any difference in power, acceleration, etc.

i had a stage 1 gti

and ya im not lookin for power just more engine feed back...its hard to describe...its probably just an adjustment for me, this is my 11th car so i have seen some different types, i had 78 cherokee with an amc 360 and this feels similiar

##side note i kep seeing obs and nne or something like that regferring to types of engines or models im not sure...what is that?

Your gti is a pretty damn fast car man, the only thing similar I've driven to compare it to is a 1.8T jetta and going from that to a obs yukon is going to be a huge jump.

More engine feedback? Maybe CAI and Exhaust and BB tune....at least it'll sound faster to you.

ya its was pretty quick...its rediculous how much an ecu upgrade impacts f/i cars...i went from 200hp stock to 250hp (well @ the crank) but front wheel drive cars has less powertrain loss though ...i think...

Same here, I had a 01' Nissan Xterra before and still own a 03 Nissan Altima. The Yukon I own feels about the same as you said. Just big, clumsy, and kinda slow to the gas. Overtime I have just gotten used to it, and I think some good suspension upgrades with engine mods should bring it up to where I think it should be. That is the great thing about these trucks, you can find anything for them.

My last car was a 2004 9C1 Chevy Impala 3.8L V6,3.29 gear.

I was not real impressed with its performance.So i changed all fluids and filters (including fuel filter) and did a full tune up w/ a seafoam treatment.Performance did seem better and mpg picked up some.Again i was not content with over all acceleration.So i started to mod it...K&N CAI,PCM tune,lower temp T-stat,and Magnaflow Cat/downpipe.This seemed to help alot and the car was quite snappy FYI i noticed the biggest improvement from the Magnaflow unit over any other mod i did....The stock downpipe was a joke.

With that said,my '99 Tahoe in total stock form would still reach 100mph faster than my modded Impala would.

And gas milage? Again,my Tahoe gets just as good if not slightly better mpg than my ol' Impala....Im not just blowing smoke here,this is what i have noticed first hand.
